No one really knows why there is an amoxicillin shortage but one lawmaker says it is definitely due to climate change.

Ligma Johnson, a lawmaker from Kentucky with no medical or science background has said climate change is definitely to blame. He believes that climate change is having a direct impact on public health and is calling on the government to implement new measures that will help reduce the effects of global warming. In an official statement Senator Johnson said:
“Duh, why else would there be a shortage. There is a clear correlation. This shortage of amoxicillin should serve as a wake-up call. We need to act now to limit the impacts of climate change on our health and well-being."
He added that the shortage was also due to the fact that amoxicillin is made from a type of mold that thrives in warm, humid conditions. The senator has called on the government to take action to address the shortage, and has blamed politicians in "denial" of climate change for the situation. He has called for greater efforts to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency, more support for renewable energy sources, and more stringent regulations on pollution.
